What to Expect when Your Expecting (to race the sandwich 50)

A few more days to go and here are the answers to some of the questions you might have.

1. Is there Friday registration pickup?
No, registration will begin at 8 am on saturday morning at the gazebo.  It will only consist of signing your waiver and picking out a number.

2. Is it really 50 miles?
That depends on you.  Do you carve the inside of the corners or do you rail the outside edges?  Seriously you'll understand on saturday.

3.What's available at the race?
THERE IS NO WATER ON SITE, BRING YOUR OWN!!  There will be a portapotty, but only one so don't plan on lining up a minute before race time.  There are two nice playgrounds within seeing range of different parts of the course.  There is a picnic shelter where there will be a large gas grill going.  So we encourage people to bring some food for grilling and snacking.   Consider it potluck style and please bring something to share.

4. What about our race food/drinks?
Immediately after the timers table there will be a section roped off for each racer/team to place a cooler or any tools they might need.  There are no handups allowed so if you need something you will have to stop and grab it.  This will be in the no race through area so your required to go slow anyhow through it.

5. Should we hang out after the race?
Yes, there will be grilling and hanging out with like minded people.

6. What about the weather?
Right now the weather looks to be cooperating.  If there is a question about the weather check here friday night and saturday morning.  Eastwood does not shed water well so if it's raining race morning then chances are it's a no go.  You don't want to spend 6 hours in the mud at eastwood.

7.Who's going to Win?
Brendan

8. Can we preride on Friday?
The course is always open provided it's dry.  The course is currently marked with red signs the whole way around.

If there are any other questions please post them up in the comments section or shoot us an email.

Any one get the trees off th trail in the middle section? I rode the trail Thursday noon and there were 2 trees down. Trail was greasy!

I was out there tonight. All the humidity out there left the first sections of trail a tad slick. I saw the trees down and we will take care of those before the race, hopefully there will be no others
